Hypothesis

Hot Dr. Pepper tastes nasty just like regular Dr. Pepper.

Experiment

Following the directions on the Dr. Pepper website, two cups of Dr. Pepper were poured into a saucepan and heated to 82 °C. Two thin lemon slices were cut and placed into two tea mugs. The heated Dr. Pepper was poured over the lemon slices and served. Two subjects then consumed the beverage.

Observations

The beverage was surprisingly tolerable, tasting more like a sweet and fruity tea than a cloying sugar solution. However, after consumption, both subjects reported nausea, possibly attributed to the high sugar content of the beverage.

Conclusion

Both subjects were happy to have tried the beverage but would probably not prepare it again.
